The China-Syria International Business Center is Officially Unveiled, Embarking on a New Journey of China-Syria Cooperation

On June 26th, 2026, the unveiling ceremony of the China-Syria International Business Center (hereinafter referred as “the Syrian Center”) was successfully held in Changshu. Before the ceremony, Zhang Wei, mayor of Changshu, met with Mohammed Zakaria Lababedi‌, Chargé d'affaires of the Embassy of Syria in China, Al Mahamamid Fadi, founder and chairman of the board of directors of ‌Al Nasaj Group, and Ye Feng, chairman of Suzhou Land Group and his team. Other participants included Ahmed Kara Ali, consular counselor of the Embassy of Syria in China, Wan Xiaojun, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Changshu Municipal Committee, and deputy mayor of Changshu, Luo Min, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Changshu Municipal Committee, and secretary of the Party Working Committee of Changshu High-tech Zone, and China-Syria government representatives, enterprise leaders and guests from various fields. They jointly witnessed this key moment.

Under the witness of all guests, Mr. Zhang Wei, Mr. Mohammed Zakaria Lababedi‌, Mr. Al Mahamamid Fadi, Mr. Wan Xiaojun, Mr. Luo Min and Mr. Ye Feng, jointly unveiled the Syrian Center. 

“China-Syria bilateral dual centers” two-way layout

Invested and constructed by Mr. Al Mahamamid Fadi, the Syria Center is a key platform under Land Group’s framework of “bilaterial dual centers”. In December 2025, Land Group and ‌Al Nasaj Group signed strategic cooperation agreement on co-building the China-Syria dual centers, with cooperation covering co-building of the Syrian Center in China and China Center in Syria, focusing on fields such as infrastructure, energy, manufacturing, agricultural products, culture and tourism, and aiming at providing Syria and China with comprehensive two-way services such as trade promotion, investment promotion, cultural exchange, technology cooperation, and business support. 

The first cooperation industrial park in Aleppo of Syria, developed and constructed by SMART LAND, will be officially under construction in the second half of 2026, and will offer solid carrier support for China-Syria economic and trade cooperation. The Syrian Center in Changshu is about to settle in the Land MOBO Center, becoming the first stop and hub for China’s enterprises to actively engage in Syria rebuilding, and meanwhile providing one-stop service for Syrian public and private sectors conducting businesses in China.

Mr. Ye Feng expressed thanks to Mr. Al Mahamamid Fadi and officials of all levels from Changshu municipal party committees, governments and high-tech zone as follows: the vision and trust of Mr. Al Mahamamid Fadi promotes the China-Syria “bilateral dual centers” to move from conception to reality, and the open and inclusive business environment in Changshu offers solid support for China-Syria cooperation. Moreover, Ye Feng stated that Land Group always proceeds steadily during the development history from over 20 years’ in-depth Sino-German cooperation, to promoting the implementation of the China-Saudi “bilateral dual centers”, and to the official launch of the Syrian Center. In the future, the group will treat the Saudi Center and Syrian Center as supporting points to continuously integrate the Middle East resources and develop networks, endeavoring to upgrade a single-nation-center into “Western Asia Center”, and dedicating to becoming a core hub that links China’s industries with those in Western Asian countries for collaborative development.

Mr. Al Mahamamid Fadi said, based on the new starting point, the Syrian Center will focus on in-depth cooperation in fields such as industrial investment, bilateral trade, city infrastructure, talent cultivation, and humanity exchange, assist China’s enterprises to enter Syria and make layouts in Levant region, and also help Syria-featured industries and high-quality resources to be in alignment with the broad market in China. We wish to cooperate with all partners, adhere to mutual trust and benefit principle, implement more business projects favoring civilians, and continue to write a new friendly chapter of Silk Road.

H.E. Mohammed Zakaria Lababedi‌ addressed that both China and Syria have long histories and brilliant civilizations. Hopefully, both parties will take this ceremony as an opportunity to conduct broader and higher-level cooperations in fields such as trade investment, industrial manufacturing, infrastructure, energy, education, medical care and humanity exchange. We also welcome more China’s enterprises to enter, understand and invest in Syria, and engage in Syria’s future development and construction.

In the future, I hope that the Syria Center will bring into full play its functions such as two-way trade matching, product display, and cross-border centralized procurement, build a new bridge for economic and trade exchanges, and create new space for industrial joint interaction, tell a good story of Changshu open development, let more Syrian high-quality products come into China, and more Changshu outstanding enterprises enter the Middle East.

The Syrian Center is a key carrier of “the China-Syria bilateral dual centers”, its official unveiling not only builds a new platform for China-Syria practical cooperation, but also creates a broader space for interconnection and mutual exchange between China’s enterprises and markets in the Western Asia.

Although separated by mountains and seas, China and Syria are connected at heart. Syria is a shining pearl on the ancient Silk Road, and nowadays the grand blueprint to co-build “the Belt and Road” once again ties us closely together. We always believe that the cooperation has no end, but new starting points!‌
