Congratulation to Land Group Sino-German Culture and Art Exchange Centre - Hismoon Fossil Collection is Awarded the Title of “Jiangsu Science Popularization Education Base”

On September 12^th, Provincial Science Association, Provincial Social Science Association, Provincial Science and Technology Department, and Provincial Education Department jointly issued notice of “recognition of 2023 Jiangsu science popularization education base”. Hismoon Fossil Collection, the Sino-German culture and art exchange centre under Suzhou Land Group, was awarded the title of “Jiangsu science popularization education base”. Previously it was awarded the titles of “Taicang science popularization education base” in 2020, and “Suzhou science popularization education base” in 2021.

Hismoon, under Suzhou Land Group, is the first Sino-German culture and exchange centre in Suzhou, the Hismoon Fossil Collection is the first public welfare exhibition gallery of fossil science popularization. Since its launching in spring 2019, the gallery is open to the public for free, and regularly organize 10 to 15 various public welfare and science popularization activities with average number of visitors of 2000 per year.

01 Child reporters from Taicang Integrated Media Center visited Hismoon Fossil Collection. Students observed, learned fossil knowledge in close distance, independently completed fossil survey and joined in science popularization interaction.

02 German youth exchange group visited the gallery for observation and interaction.

03 Middle school art class visited the gallery, teachers and students from Shaxi Middle School visited fossil gallery and art gallery, and enjoyed natural and humanity aesthetics. After the observation, students freely created their own art works, which achieved the science and art integrated learning result.

04 The comprehensive agriculture team of Taicang Association of Senior Scientists and Technicians organized members to visit and learn in Hismoon Fossil Collection, the Taicang science popularization and education base.

05 Members of Chinese Astronomical Society and chief science popularization experts from Suzhou Astronomical Society held science popularization lecture – 3^rd session of “oil painting and astronomy” series.

The gallery exhibits in total over 60 well-preserved precious species fossils such as fern, calamite, cricoidoscelosus aethus, lycoptera, protopsephurus and peipiaosteus.

For a long time, Land Group always strongly supports social public welfare and education. Since Hismoon Fossil Collection received the title of Jiangsu science popularization education base, Land will continue to invest RMB 1.2 million to improve scientific education facility and equipment management, help with universal welfare scientific education and make contribution to social welfare education.

Hismoon has an open space for activity of nearly 1,000 square meters, which are divided into three areas including art exhibition gallery, fossil collection gallery and fossil art space. The main functions cover art exhibition Sino-German art exchange, fossil exhibition, public science popularization and cultural innovative industry. As a Sino-German exchange centre, Hismoon builds bridge for Sino-German artwork exchange and artists exchange, and displays Sino-German artists’ continuation of their own tradition culture and their thinking and exploration of diversified cultural integration.
